Day 59 Revd Tim Heaton’s Thought for the Day

The biggest thing coronavirus has shown is that a complete revolution in human behaviour is possible – and that it can happen very quickly. Why is it, then, that we can’t seem to tackle other issues that so desperately need to be dealt with?

The will of government is, of course, key. If it can force me to go for two months without a haircut, then surely it can better tackle drugs, crime (the one feeds the other), mental health, poverty, homelessness, pollution and climate change.

It can’t just be that coronavirus is a matter of life and death, because all these other things are too, some on an even bigger scale. Where there’s a will there’s a way. Pray for our leaders today.

Alleluia. Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia.
