Day 63 Revd Tim Heaton’s Thought for the Day

Someone emailed me immediately and said, “We should pray for rain.” And she’s right, we should. So far as I recall we’ve only had two spells of rain in the last couple of months, though the last time we did have quite a lot.

But I’ve had the sprinkler on the vegetable garden already, much earlier than usual. So on this second Rogation Day I’m giving thanks to God for our plentiful supply of water. In the twenty-five years I’ve lived here we’ve never had a hosepipe ban.

And I’m praying for those in other parts of the world who have not nearly enough, some even without clean water to drink, let alone water to irrigate their crops.

Alleluia. Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia.
