Day 93

At 11:20am on this day in 1944, a V1 flying bomb hit the Guards’ Chapel on Birdcage Walk in London. It was a Sunday morning, worship was in progress, and 121 people were killed. Hitler didn’t manage to close our churches but coronavirus has.

News this week that 235 Covid-19 cases have been linked to a church in Oregon proves it was the right thing to do. Apparently this particular church continued having services in April and May, including a wedding for more than a hundred people!

We must now be patient and make plans to reopen our churches safely. Our three PCCs are working on that at the moment and we should pray for them as they act on our behalf.
