Day 11 Sunday, 15 November – Second Sunday Before Advent
God wants to bring about a better future. That’s what the “new creation” is all about, towards which the whole world is slowly but inexorably moving. Yet when it comes to our natural environment and ecosystems it seems that human beings are constantly trying to frustrate God’s purpose.
Today’s Bible readings caution those who are complacent (Zephaniah 1:12) and others who are asleep (1 Thessalonians 5:6). And in the great Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) comes a warning to those who are lazy and don’t even try.
In our ongoing efforts to improve the health of our beautiful planet, may we be among those who seek to give back to God what God has given us… with interest!
