Confirmation is an opportunity to affirm the promises made for you at your Christening. For young people or adults who are baptised or recently baptised the confirmation group gives an opportunity to meet together with other young people or adults to talk about the Christian life and faith.
We usually meet in a small group for a number of weeks and talk about the topics the group would like to discuss about Christian life and faith. This usually includes God, Jesus, prayer, the Bible, the Holy Spirit, Holy Communion, belonging to the church and living in God’s world.
Confirmation services take place either in one of our local churches or in Salisbury Cathedral. As part of the service a bishop prays a special prayer of confirmation for all those being confirmed. There’s lots more information on the Church of England’s confirmation website.
