A Church of England funeral is available to absolutely everyone, giving support before, during and after the funeral service, for as long as you would like. You don’t have to have been coming to church regularly for one of our ministers to take the funeral service.

It may be the first time we meet your family.  If you would like a hymn and a prayer during the service for you or your loved one then we might be the right people to take the service for you. We work with the bereaved family and funeral directors to offer a funeral service which is right for you and your loved one.

We can give advice on prayers, poetry, hymns, music, Bible readings  and other readings and include your choices and offer the framework that the services of the Church of England provide. At the same time we are very happy to include your own wishes as part of the ceremony.

Our experienced team of clergy take services in the churches in Gillingham and Milton on Stour, the local crematoria, cemeteries and Woodland burial sites. We are available to pray and talk with anyone who may be approaching the end of life or wants to plan their funeral.

The Church of England has a thorough website on funerals here.
