First Sunday

‘First Sunday’ Is informal and interactive worship on the first Sunday of every month. At 11am in St Mary the Virgin Primary School Hall, Pheasant Way, Gillingham, and at 4pm at St Simon and St Jude Church, Milton on Stour. Lasting about an hour with songs, stories, creativity, prayers, drink and cake any age can participate in whatever way they are comfortable.

Meditation

There is a long and rich history of silence in the Christian tradition which is sometimes overlooked. Every week we offer the opportunity for meditation in the benefice. Rooted in the Christian tradition we welcome those of any or no faith. Please see the ‘What’s on’ page for dates and times.

You are very welcome to come and take some time to ‘sit in stillness and silence, not straining or striving. We abandon all words and reflection and we rest. We put ourselves in God’s hands and wait in silence, to let God’s Spirit pray in us. Sitting there all peaceful and quiet.’ B. O’Rourke “Finding Your Hidden Treasure’

Messy Church

Messy Church is a mixture of arts, crafts, games, a celebration of the Christian faith and food! Messy Church meets once a month, usually on the fourth Sunday in the Vicarage School Room from 3.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and includes a meal. All ages are welcome and Messy Church works particularly well for children and their carers.

Soulspace

Once a month Soulspace meets to give space to relax, drink coffee, eat, chat and take time to reflect and restore your soul in good company. If you know someone who finds traditional church is not the best time or format for them, invite them to Soulspace to talk about the meaning of life and where faith fits in.

Walking in Faith

It good to get out in the fresh air in all seasons to walk. Walking together can be full of joy, companionship and goodness. We might walk side by side, or on our own; talking or in quiet as the mood takes us. Our aim is that this will be a time of being fully present to God, one another and ourselves. Please bring a packed lunch and clothes and shoes suitable for all weather. The walk begins and ends with a poem and short walking prayer. To confirm start time and place please check the diary or e-mail gillinghamanglican@btinternet.com

Your Choice

‘Your Choice’ is part of the 10am service in St Mary’s Church once a month where there is the opportunity to consider the bible text set for the day set in a relaxed manner in the Vicarage School Room through conversation and art over coffee and croissants.
